Bearing rollers may look small but they have over 50 years of engineering packed into them. Tohshin Seiki holds an approximately 80 percent share nationwide when it comes to certain types of rollers. Our pursuit for achieving sub-micron levels of precision as well as honing our craft have allowed us to maintain our relationships with major manufacturers as technology partners.
Aiming to become a company with its own technological capabilities, Tohshin Seiki was born in December of 1956. Taking into consideration managerial elements such as capital, future potential, labor productivity of added value and locality, Tohshin Seiki began manufacturing rollers for bearings. Bearings are used mostly in cars but even computers use extremely small bearings, and thus bearings have become an essential part of today’s society.
“We’ll only make the same products as our competitors if we use the same manufacturing methods,” was the thought process that led to us to develop our own in-house central production facility. Other auxiliary materials like the grinding stone, are used in unique ways that match our processing techniques.
Our “obsession” with sub-micron levels (1/10,000mm) has been ingrained into our corporate culture, and it is thanks to every employee for having the obsession when manufacturing that Tohshin Seiki is the way it is today.
